Infection Control
Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Dr. Vines and our entire staff follow procedures recommended by numerous state and federal agencies: The Dental Board of California (DBC), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
These measures include:
• Gloves and face masks
• Surface disinfection of all surfaces
• Weekly monitoring of sterilizer
• Sterilization of all tools with multi-parameter indicators
• Disposable materials
• Safety goggles for both patients and staff
• Personal protective equipment for staff
We sterilize all reusable instruments, including dental hand pieces in an autoclave. Click here for info
Annually our entire staff participates in safety and infection compliance seminars.
The best defense against illness is information. The more you, our patients, know about infection control precautions and our daily procedures and policies, the better equipped you are to make wise decisions about your health care and the more comfortable you will feel.
